Lava International is setting its sights on capturing a 10% slice of the Rs 20,000-25,000 smartphone segment with its latest model, Agni 3. The homegrown mobile device maker announced its ambitious target with the launch of the new rear display handset, aiming to allure tech-savvy young consumers.
Priced between Rs 19,999 and Rs 22,999, Agni 3 boasts a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X Octa-core processor that supports dual screen functions—a feature typically reserved for high-end flip phones. Executive Director Sunil Raina highlighted that this innovation is expected to significantly extend battery life, offering a unique experience among competitors.
Available exclusively on Amazon from October 9, Agni 3 is central to Lava's broader market strategy. The company plans to invest Rs 500 crore, targeting a 10% market share in the sub-Rs 30,000 segment by 2025-2026. The Agni series has already shown significant growth, and expectations for the Agni 3 are high, forecasting a 200-300% growth compared to its predecessor.
