ZEISS Doubles Down on Bengaluru Hub: A Vision for the Future

Global optics and optoelectronics leader, ZEISS, has announced plans to significantly expand its workforce in Bengaluru. By 2028, the company aims to double its headcount to over 1,200 at the recently inaugurated Global Capability Centre (GCC), according to a senior official from the company.
Opened on Monday, the center will initially house 600 employees, bringing expertise in fields such as medical technology, vision care, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital transformation. ZEISS India's CFO, Dhaval Radia, highlighted the center's role in accelerating digital transformation and strengthening the company's growth in India.
The center, spanning 43,000 square feet, serves as a strategic hub tapping into Bengaluru's deep IT talent pool. ZEISS has also partnered with the Karnataka government to strengthen the R&D ecosystem. This collaboration aims to support local startups and accelerate the commercialization of innovations like AI-driven diagnostics and smart optical devices within three years.
