In a significant update, Arattai, the Zoho-backed messaging app, now provides end-to-end encryption for its direct chats, according to an announcement made on Tuesday. The platform urged its users to update to the latest app version to benefit from this security enhancement.

Zoho's founder, Sridhar Vembu, emphasized that users must upgrade to ensure encrypted communication. He highlighted that once both parties have the most recent version, a new encrypted chat session will replace the old unsecured one. This move aligns with broader cybersecurity demands and protects users' privacy.

While group chat encryption is not yet available, Vembu assured it would be implemented soon. The app has been gaining traction, especially in India, with repeated endorsements by tech leaders and a surge in daily users.
