Amara Raja Design Alpha (ARDA), a specialized R&D firm within the Amara Raja Group, declared its bold foray into the mission-critical defence electronics sector. This move is marked by the development of an indigenous Power Conditioning Cabinet (PCC) tailored specifically for naval sonar systems.

This initiative signals a significant stride by a private tech company in supporting India's burgeoning naval indigenisation efforts. ARDA revealed that approximately 61% of the system's components are sourced indigenously, promising to achieve about 40% in cost efficiencies through advanced power engineering and local manufacturing.

According to the company, the PCC can support loads up to 160 kW, ensuring high-reliability power distribution essential for sonar systems. These systems form a crucial layer of underwater surveillance and warfare readiness for the Indian Navy, whose budget has seen substantial growth, reflecting heightened investments in maritime capabilities.
