Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is set to join the advisory board of Beijing's Tsinghua University, sources told the Financial Times. The board, chaired by Apple's Tim Cook, is notable for including international tech moguls such as Tesla's Elon Musk and Meta's Mark Zuckerberg.

This decision comes amidst a U.S. ban on exporting Nvidia's high-tech chips to China, a security measure that has been active since 2022. Despite U.S.-China diplomatic engagements, a resolution regarding Nvidia's chip sales remains undisclosed.

The advisory board was established in 2000 and is a collaborative platform involving global tech leaders and influential politicians, including Xi Jinping, who calls Tsinghua his alma mater. Both Nvidia and Tsinghua have yet to respond to media requests for comments on the new appointment.
