Meta Platforms plans to begin testing an AI pendant in the coming year, as the company seeks to revamp its approach to wearable devices to mitigate hardware division losses, according to an internal memo reported by The Information.

The report indicates Meta is substantially increasing its range of AI glasses and will introduce a business-centric service, dubbed 'Wearables for Work.' This endeavor aligns with its strategy to sell 10 million wearable units by late 2026 amid a $4.03 billion loss in its Reality Labs hardware division.

Meta has existing collaborations with EssilorLuxottica's brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley, to produce smart glasses that integrate AI. Furthermore, the acquisition of AI-wearables startup Limitless underscores Meta's commitment to developing advanced AI wearables.
