Guam Ready to Launch Space Control Squadron

With an official announcement still pending, Major Josephine Blas says its the perfect point to launch a space control squadron on Guam. Blas described Guam as the perfect place in the Pacific. "We are right in the middle of the Pacific, the pivot, as they call it. We are an American soil, so we are the perfect point to launch the squadron."

The Major said about 77 to 88 full-time and drill-status guardsmen and women will be added to a Space Control Squadron on Guam. The squadron will be responsible for delivering defensive or offensive counter-space and space situational awareness to rapidly achieve flexible and versatile effects in support of global and theatre campaigns.
