Xiaomi fans are eagerly waiting for the launch of Mi Band 4 in India which is expected to be just around the corner. The Chinese tech giant is expected to unveil its much-awaited fitness band in India in July itself as it completes 5 successful years in the country. But will the upgrade be worth it if you already own Mi Band 3?
We don't know the price at which Xiaomi will launch Mi Band 4 in India yet but it is expected to be between Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,200, almost the same as a new Mi Band 3.
Comparing with Mi Band 3, Band 4 comes with an improved display, voice commands, improved sensors, and bigger battery.
Mi Band 4 comes with a color 0.95-inch color AMOLED display with 120×240 pixels resolution and ability to choose from dozens of watch faces compared to black and white display of Mi Band 3 and only 3 watch faces to choose from.
Voice commands give a great advantage to Mi Band 4 if compared to Mi Band 3. Xiao AI voice assistant that comes with the latest generation of the band can control several features using voice commands like setting schedules, play music, find phone, check heart rate and more.
The assistant on Mi Band 4 can be turned on by lifting the wrist.
Mi Band 4 features a 135 mAh battery whereas the third-generation band sports 110 mAh battery. The battery on Mi Band 3 is pretty decent and can last you around 15 days easily with moderate usage. Therefore the bigger battery is definitely an advantage but can't be the sole reason to upgrade.
If you are looking for only fitness tracking features then the upgrade might not be worth it. Even as Mi Band 4 features an improved sensor for tracking, there's no significant difference compared to Mi Band 3.
But if you look at it as a useful accessory that doubles up as a fitness band, then Mi Band 4 will give you great value given it's color AMOLED display and voice assistant features.
