The increasing frequency and intensity of natural disasters are a consequence of global warming. The phenomenon generates challenges associated with the development of resilience to certain events and with post-event shock recovery both for societies and organizations. In communities, the growth of populations raises important concerns about increased human exposure to extremes. In such a situation, awareness and the use of protective mechanisms by organizations should increase.
There is so much room for improvement in resilience mechanisms that can help greatly in enhancing the organizational, individual, and communal potential in dealing with weather extremes.
