According to Cambodia's defense ministry, the main reason of this meet is to expand the military ties between Cambodia and China.

In China, he will also be present in the opening ceremony of a joint Cambodia-China military exhibition in the capital's Koh Pich commercial center.
As stated by the General Chhum Socheat, a defense spokesman of Cambodia said the main focus of this visit to strengthening military ties between the two countries.
On adding to this he also said "The friendly visit between the two national defense ministries will enhance the cooperation between the Cambodian and Chinese army. This is the main issue."
