Training for retraining and updating training modules on conflict management and social mediation began on Monday in Moroni. It concerns 22 young people from associations working for peace in the three islands.
22 young people gather in Moroni to enhance their knowledge of conflict management and social mediation models. The training, which will last five days, brings together participants from Mohéli and Anjouan and is provided by national trainers.
The organization of this training, SHARES, meets a double imperative; on the one hand, to strengthen the skills and capacities of the members of the network of young peace leaders and other youth associations involved in this process.
On the other hand, to prepare mediators capable of carrying out concrete actions on the ground to prevent situations of conflict, to find solutions to the various conflicts that prevail in the towns and villages of the country.
This training is the result of many actions by which the national network of young leaders for peace, the Government of the Union of Comoros, the Government of Australia through UNFPA, intend to contribute to the strengthening of the prevention of peace and social mediation.
Mamadou Boina Maecha, Assistant Program at UNFPA said that training young people on conflict management and social mediation is really important for the country.
