Former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Chief Minister N D Tiwari passes away

Veteran Congress leader ND Tiwari, who had been Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand CM, Union minister and Andhra Pradesh Governor, has passed away.

Narayan Dutt Tiwari like his father was filled with patriotism who left his post as an officer in forest department to join Non-cooperation movement.

Dutt studied in Haldwani and Bareilly and later moved to Nainital.

Narayan carried his father's legacy when he was arrested on December 14, 1942, for the Indian Independence Movement opposing Britishers polices. He became chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for three times and also served in Union cabinet under for several miniseries.

Only 800 votes caused him to lose PM post which was taken by PV Narasimha Rao.
