Director David Mackenzie has termed the debate over Chris Pine's full-frontal nude scene in "Outlaw King" as "ridiculous".
The 52-year-old director told Metro newspaper that scene, which lasts for a few seconds, has been blown out of proportion.
"It's a man getting clean in a cold Loch – you don't do that with your clothes on. And it's microseconds, it's ridiculous all the fuss about it," Mackenzie said.
The director said Pine, with whom he earlier worked on "Hell or High Water", was "easy" to cast as popular Scottish warrior, Robert the Bruce.
"I liked his qualities as an actor and movie star and I wanted to have someone to play Robert The Bruce, who could embrace the physicality of being this iconic hero," he said.
