Groundnut oil rises on increased offtake

New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) Groundnut and mustard oil prices firmed up by up to Rs 200 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market in the national capital today on increased offtake by Vanaspati millers amid pick up in demand from retailers.

However, castor oil in the non-edible section, eased on subdued demand from consuming industries.

Traders said increased offtake by Vanaspati millers against restricted arrivals from growing regions mainly pushed up groundnut and mustard oil prices.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) oil rose by Rs 200 to Rs 9,700 per quintal. Groudnut solvent refined oil followed suit and edged up by Rs 20 to Rs 1,800-1,900 per tin.

Mustard expeller (Dadri) oil also went up by Rs 100 to Rs 8,300 per quintal.

On the other hand in the non-edible section, castor oil drifted down by Rs 200 to Rs 7,200-7,300 per quintal.

Oilseeds: Mustard seed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut seed Rs 2,150-2,900, Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 800-1,000.

Edible oils: Groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) Rs 9,700, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin)

Rs 1,800-1,900, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 8,300, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,295-1,340, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,345-1,445, Sesame mill delivery Rs 10,200, Soybean Refined mill delivery (Indore) Rs 7,700, Soybean Degum (Kandla) Rs 7,300, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 5,500, Cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) Rs 7,700, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 6,650, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 6,700 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 3,100-3,150.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 9,600, Castor Rs 7,200-7,300, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
