Rice basmati weakens on low demand

Rice basmati prices slipped by to Rs 200 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today on easing demand against adequate stocks position.

However, other grains remained flat in thin trade.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against sufficient stocks position, mainly weighed on rice basmati prices.

In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety were down by Rs 100 and Rs 200 to Rs 7,300-7,400 and Rs 6,500-6,600 per quintal, respectively.
