Financial Benchmarks India private limited fixed the reference rate of the rupee

The Financial Benchmarks India private limited (FBIL) today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 70.5046 against the US dollar and 82.3376 for the euro.

The corresponding rates were 70.1687 and 81.9266 as on Friday, August 28. According to an FBIL statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were 90.6257 and 63.42 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.

The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
