  • Country:
  • India

Mustard seed prices receded by Rs 19 to Rs 4,053 per quintal today as traders shrank their holdings in line with thin sentiments at the spot markets.

Marketmen attributed the down-tick in the mustard seed futures prices to sliding trend in the spot markets due to soaring stocks on endless arrivals against tepid demand from oil mills.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, mustard seed delivery for the October came down by Rs 19 or 0.47 percent to Rs 4,053 per quintal, showing an open interest of 39,050 lots.

Also, the rates for September shed Rs 12 or 0.30 percent to Rs 3,971 per quintal, persisting an open interest of 67,060 lots.
