A sum of Rs 10 crore was donated to Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, near here, by PASCO Group CMD Sanjay Passion Friday, an official of the temple said.

Before making the offering, Passi, a devotee, got his head tonsured as a fulfillment of his vow, the official told PTI.

After worship, Sanjay with their wife Shalini handed over a DD for the amount to TTD Additional Executive Officer AV Dharma Reddy at the shrine, the official said.

Of the total Rs 10 crore, the PASCO chief requested the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) that governs the hill shrine to utilize Rs 9 crore for the temple-run Sri Venkateswara Bhakti TV Channel. The remaining Rs 1 crore for Sri Venkateswara Sarvashreya Trust meant for TTDs orphanage that has been offering free education, accommodation, and boarding to orphaned, destitute, and the disadvantaged, he added.
