FBIL fixes reference rate of rupee at 71.9 against US dollar

The Financial Benchmarks India private limited (FBIL) today fixed the reference rate of the rupee at 71.9214 against the US dollar and 83.6005 for the euro.
The corresponding rates were 71.7533 and 83.1310 as on yesterday.
According to an FBIL statement, the exchange rates for the pound and the yen against the rupee were 92.8007 and 64.56 per 100 yens, respectively, based on reference rates for the dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.
The SDR-rupee figure will be based on this rate, the statement added.
