I think it is something which is no longer fashionable. 10 years back it used to be something that only the big companies would talk about but today it is a matter of survival, a business necessity for every company. Further enumerating some of the key efforts done by his company in the direction of sustainable development, Mr. Jhunjhunwala added, “I have been analysing our own efforts and initiatives in this direction and I am happy to share that we are one of the first companies in Rajasthan to have zero discharge policy and have saved approximately 2500 KL of water every day when it comes to our textile. We ventured into green energy and hydro power about 20 years back and today we create 350 megawatts across all our units, be it wind, solar or hydro and this is replacing around 10 Lakh tonnes of CO2 emission per year.” He also promised that LNJ Bhilwara Group, will significantly multiply its focus on sustainability efforts going forward.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Salil Bhandari, Founder, BGJC said, “Businesses are preparing for the challenges looming ahead and are working towards building a sustainable future. As consulting firms, it is the need of the hour for us to advice our clients to create a non-linear future. We are looking at managing the core businesses at peak efficiency and profitability. We are in the process of constantly relooking, rethinking and weeding what is not needed. This is ruthless but necessary action for sustaining and living a new life. It is crucial for businesses to pass the sustainability target, if they want to remain relevant.

These transformative times have offered opportunities for businesses and professionals alike. We see this as an opportunity to work with our clients on this herculean task of creating awareness about sustainability, developing new processes and adopting new technologies to help clients move forward in sustainability journey. This is opening up new array of work profiles for professionals.” The theme of the launch of 40th year event, which was attended by employees, alumni and clients of BGJC, was – A few constants and many changes – journey towards a sustainable future. BGJC committed itself to help its clients meet the requirements of even stricter sustainability laws that all corporates will have to conform to in future. BGJC has also identified technology enablement across its advisory services as another area to support sustainable growth of its clients.
