Cashew prices fell by Rs 5 per kg at the wholesale dry fruits market in the national capital on Monday owing to sluggish demand from retailers and stockists.

Adequate stocks against slackened demand from bulk consumers also weighed pressure on the cashew prices.

Activity remained restricted as inquiries from neighboring states remained negligible due to 'Bharat Bandh' call given by the Congress and several other parties against rising fuel prices.

Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 230) prices fell by Rs 5 each to conclude at Rs 1,055-1,060, Rs 925-945, Rs 840-845 and Rs 750-760 per kg, respectively.
