Georgia shows strong growth in FDI on energy and transport sectors
In the first half of this year, FDI was $676.2 million, down from 749.4 million in the same period of 2017.

TBILISI, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Foreign direct investment in Georgia in the second quarter rose 9.4 percent year-on-year, with Azerbaijan the biggest investor and the energy and transport sectors dominating flows.

Total FDI was $389.2 million, up from $355.8 million in the second quarter of 2017 and $287 million in the first quarter of 2018.

In the first half of this year, FDI was $676.2 million, down from 749.4 million in the same period of 2017.

Azerbaijan invested $80.5 million in April-June, followed by China, which invested $77.9 million and the Netherlands with $65.3 million.
