Govt ensuring 'best' health facilities to mothers, newborns: HP CM

Mandi (HP), Sep 12 ( PTI) The Himachal Pradesh government is committed to providing best pre- and postnatal healthcare facilities to mothers and newborns, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here Wednesday.

Addressing the Anganwadi workers, the representatives of Mahila Mandals and Panchayats on the occasion of Poshahar week at Bagsied in Seraj assembly segment here, Thakur administered oath to them regarding nutrition campaign under the "Poshan Abhiyan", one of the most ambitious programmes of the state government for ensuring "best nutrition" for better health of the mother and the child.

Earlier, the chief minister honored artisan Ghimbar Ram for manufacturing traditional musical instruments and Inder Singh of Wood Craft Training Centre, Seraj, for woodcraft under the Guru-Shishya Parampara Scheme of state Art, Language and Culture Department.
