ITDC inks MoU with Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development

State-run hospitality company ITDC signed a MoU with the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) on Monday, for strengthening cooperation in the tourism sector, a statement from the ministry said.

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) a PSU under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism signed the MoU with the SMIT, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Kingdom of Morocco.

Chairperson and Managing Director (C&MD), ITDC, Ravneet Kaur said, "Signing of the MoU is an acknowledgment of the capabilities and core competency of ITDC and the important role it has played in the development of tourism and related infrastructure in the country."

With the signing of the MoU, both the organizations will be able to share engineering and tourism products development expertise, new trends and technology in tourism products and innovative tourism product development, the statement from the tourism ministry said.

The advantages of the alliance would be marketing, feasibility studies related to the needs and expectations of investors and tourists, expertise in structuring projects in the infrastructure space apart from sharing of a database of potential Indian and Moroccan investors in the tourism sector, it said.
