China and Thailand need to accelerate the construction of the China-Thailand railway that will help in opening up a part of the Trans-Asian railway, China's foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The comment about the high-speed railway between both countries, seen by some as a "fiscal trap" for Thailand, came after Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Thailand's Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin in Bangkok.
Wang also said both countries needed to promote the concept of connectivity among China, Laos and Thailand.
