The B.C. Jindal Group has quelled rumours of exiting their international packaging business by revealing a strategic reorganization of global operations under a unified leadership team. This strategic move underscores their dedication to expanding and fortifying their global footprint.

Over the past decade, the group has made substantial investments in specialized packaging films worldwide, acquiring several key assets. The group's global footprint features manufacturing plants in the US, Italy, Belgium, Germany, and France. Emphasizing sustainable solutions, the group's technology centre in Virton, Belgium, is pivotal in supporting global sustainability goals.

Recently, the group boosted its investment in a new BOPP/BOPE production line at their Brindisi plant in Italy, aiming to increase capacity by 25%. Furthermore, their US business has been consolidated at Shawnee, Oklahoma, focused on improving profitability backed by advanced technology in coated films. This segment, previously run as a standalone unit, now operates under the Jindal Films global packaging division and will benefit from synergies across various plants.

Mr. Bhavesh Jindal stated, “We remain fully committed to our operations in Europe and the US, and continue to invest in the business.” He highlighted that this reorganization aims to drive continuous growth and create immense value. Mr. Saurabh Jain, CEO of Overseas Operations, alongside Jindal Films Europe CEO, Mr. Manfred F. Kaufmann, will lead strategic initiatives ensuring market leadership.

Mr. Kaufmann emphasized, “Our competitive edge in BOPP film technology lays the foundation for developing a robust BOPE business with our 'EthyLyte' film grades. The new BOPE/BOPP line in Brindisi bolsters our capacity and technological prowess to support our customers' sustainability commitments by 2025.” As a seven-decade old conglomerate, the B.C. Jindal Group spans various industries with an impressive turnover of ~USD 2.5 billion.
