President Edgar Lungu describes his Japan trip a success

Zambia's President Edgar Lungu was recently in Japan for three days. He has now described his official tour a success.
President Edgar Lungu said that he met Japanese investors who have vowed to pump out investment in key sectors of the economy like agriculture and manufacturing. With such investments, Zambia will increase its productivity in key sectors of the economy.
Edgar Lungu, who also served as Minister of Justice and Minister of Defence, assured the Japanese investors that their investment is absolutely safe in Zambia. The country believes in the rule of law and the property rights are respected. He also assured that the government of Zambia has laws that nourish and support the growth of both public and private sectors.
The 62-year old politician expressed his gladness saying that a number of investors are interested to invest in the generation of electricity away from hydro power, ZNBC reported. He also added that there are multiple areas of cooperation that Zambians and Japanese have not exploited.
