With Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking oath for the third time, India Inc on Monday expressed optimism that the new government under his leadership can usher in the next phase of reforms to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat.

Corporate leaders took to X, formerly Twitter, to post congratulatory messages following Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. Modi becomes the second PM after Jawaharlal Nehru to secure a third consecutive term.

Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal tweeted, ''Congratulations to @narendramodi ji on being elected Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time. Bharat has crossed many milestones under your visionary leadership. We are confident that the country will continue on its remarkable growth trajectory!''.

JSW Group CMD Sajjan Jindal echoed Agarwal's sentiments in his post on X: ''Congratulations @narendramodi ji on assuming office as Prime Minister for the third time, a feat last achieved by Nehru ji. With new cabinet, I am optimistic about the continued progress and development of our nation. Together, let's build a stronger & more resilient economy''.

Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra also congratulated Modi, expressing high hopes for the upcoming term's impact on India’s development and prosperity.

CII President Sanjiv Puri lauded the strong growth rate of 8.2 per cent in 2023-24 and believes the new government can seize global opportunities and build on the robust fundamentals of the economy.

CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee emphasized that India's ambitious reform agenda under Modi will propel the nation forward towards development.

FICCI President Anish Shah expressed optimism, noting that the third consecutive term for NDA ensures continuation of the reform agenda, fostering economic and social growth for 'Viksit Bharat'.

Assocham Secretary General Deepak Sood said corporate India and global investors feel confident about the country's leadership, anticipating fast and bold reforms across various domains including governance and quality of life.

Business leaders are eagerly awaiting the upcoming Union Budget, viewed as a blueprint for the NDA government’s priorities and policy directions towards further growth.

According to Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson of PwC in India, the incoming government will shape the economic and social destiny of the world's largest and youngest democracy.
