The Uttar Pradesh government has embarked on a transformative initiative to optimize Noida Metro’s vacant commercial spaces by converting them into convenience stores. This strategy aims to significantly improve amenities, operational efficiency, and connectivity.
According to an official statement by the government, the initiative will enhance facilities at six metro stations and increase the revenue of the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). Specifically, the program targets revitalizing vacant commercial spaces at metro stations in Sector 50, Sector 51, Sector 76, Alpha One, Delta One, and the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) office.
This effort involves the conversion of 310 square meters across these stations into kiosks and convenience stores. Additionally, steps are being taken to recruit manpower and expedite the completion of pending metro rail expansion phases. Licenses for these convenience stores will be issued for a five-year period, with a mandatory lock-in period of one year and potential extension based on performance.
