Maharashtra Budget 2023: Empowering Initiatives or Election Gimmicks?

In a staunch defense of the Maharashtra budget, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar dismissed accusations from the opposition that the new schemes for women, youth, and farmers are merely 'election gimmicks'.

Pawar, who also holds the finance portfolio, asserted that the schemes align with budgetary allocations and emphasized the stable condition of Maharashtra's economy despite a 10.67% increase in debt.

Additional budgetary provisions will ensure the success of the initiatives, with Pawar reiterating his ambition of making Maharashtra a one trillion-dollar economy by 2028.
