Rajasthan's 2024-25 Budget: A Blueprint for Development

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari presented the state's comprehensive budget for FY25 with an outlay of Rs 4.95 lakh crore. Key highlights include 4 lakh recruitments over five years, nine greenfield expressways, tax reductions, major investments in health and sanitation, and several development initiatives aimed at making Rajasthan a developed state by 2047.

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari on Wednesday unveiled an ambitious budget for the state, earmarking Rs 4.95 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2024-25. The budget outlines significant initiatives such as 4 lakh recruitments over the next five years, the development of nine greenfield expressways, and a reduction in VAT on cooking gas and CNG from 14.5% to 10%.

In a bid to enhance the state's health and infrastructure sectors, Rs 27,000 crore has been allocated for health services, along with Rs 15,000 crore dedicated to providing tap water to 25 lakh rural households. Further, women empowerment is emphasized through the construction of bio/pink toilets in all urban areas.

The budget aims to transform Rajasthan into a developed state by 2047, with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma lauding it as a visionary document. Key projects include creating a defense manufacturing hub, advancing the tourism sector, and promoting green growth with seven crore plantations. A 'green budget' is also in the works for next year.
