Indian stock markets kicked off Thursday's trading session on a high note, buoyed by a rally in Asian markets. The Nifty 50 index opened at 24,396.55, climbing 67 points from the previous close, while the BSE Sensex saw an impressive start at 80,170, up by 230 points.

V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services, credited the ongoing bull market's rise from a March 2020 low of 7,511 to around 24,300 to the 'buy on dips' strategy, despite high valuations. He advised investors to brace for corrections, emphasizing their unpredictability.
Thursday is also crucial for earnings announcements, with major IT firms like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) set to reveal their first-quarter results for 2024. TCS previously reported a 9% net profit rise to Rs 12,434 crore in the Q4 of FY24 from Rs 11,392 crore in FY23.
Asian stock exchanges recorded substantial gains; Japan's Nikkei surged by 347.85 points, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose by 1.42%, and Taiwan Weighted jumped over 300 points. Global markets saw WTI crude oil prices at USD 82.50 and Brent crude at USD 85.42. Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index hit 104.98.
