Sales of luxury homes in Mumbai, each priced above Rs 10 crore, rose 8% in the first half of 2023, amounting to approximately Rs 12,300 crore, according to a report by India Sotheby's International Realty and CRE Matrix.
The report indicates that luxury home sales stood at Rs 11,400 crore during the same period in the previous year. This increase highlights a bullish trend in the residential property market, reflecting growing confidence in the Indian economy.
India Sotheby's International Realty and CRE Matrix, firms specializing in luxury home transactions and data analytics respectively, released their findings on Mumbai's luxury housing market, covering both primary and secondary markets.
The primary luxury segment saw sales worth Rs 8,752 crore, while the secondary market achieved record sales of over Rs 3,500 crore, a rise of 38% compared to the first half of 2023.
Notable transactions included a Rs 270 crore deal by Anil Gupta at Lodha Malabar, and a Rs 156.5 crore purchase by Rekha Jhunjhunwala & Family at Rockside Apartment.
