Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam highlighted the immense potential of India and Southeast Asia to create a new era of opportunity, equity, and sustainability during an address on Thursday.
Speaking at the 20th anniversary dinner of the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS), Tharman praised the regions' capability to reinforce multilateralism despite a resurgence of nationalist industrial policies globally.
Tharman outlined three strategic responses for India and Southeast Asia: fostering innovation, enhancing skills through collaboration, and forming coalitions with responsible partners to tackle global challenges like climate change.
