Euro zone bond yields saw a slight increase on Friday, recovering from a sharp decline the previous day due to weaker-than-expected U.S. inflation figures. Germany's 10-year bond yield, the benchmark for the euro zone, rose by 2 basis points to 2.493%. Despite this, it remains on course to end the week approximately 4 basis points lower after a significant drop of 7 basis points on Thursday.
France's 10-year bond yield, which has garnered attention following Sunday's election resulting in a hung parliament, also experienced a rise of 2 basis points to 3.149%. Nevertheless, it is expected to conclude the week 6 basis points lower. The yield spread between French and German bonds was steady at 65 basis points.
In Italy, the 10-year bond yield increased by 2 basis points to 3.814%, with the gap between Italian and German bond yields at 132 basis points. Meanwhile, Germany's two-year bond yield, closely watched for European Central Bank rate forecasts, saw a 2 basis point climb to 2.819%.
