The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday granted approval for IndiGo to implement Electronic Flight Folders (EFF) for carrying pre-flight briefing data electronically, which aims to reduce aircraft weight and fuel consumption.

By adopting EFF, IndiGo can transition from paper-based flight plans and weather charts to digital formats, enhancing safety and efficiency in pre-flight operations, as stated by the DGCA.

The DGCA highlighted that EFF technology uses the latest data to optimize flight paths, cutting down on fuel use and emissions. This change is expected to generate significant annual fuel savings for the airline.
