The Delhi government's transport department is set to initiate an enforcement drive from July 15 to address violations under the Delhi Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme, according to officials.
This scheme requires service providers to register and obtain a licence to run cab and delivery services. Although the original deadline for applying for a licence was June 15, the department has provided a month's extension.
To date, 20 licences have been issued under the scheme, including to prominent players such as Uber, Ola, and Swiggy. The enforcement drive will impose fines on drivers who lack the necessary licence or fail to meet the electric vehicle transition deadline.
