Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held significant discussions with potential investors in Zurich, underscoring substantial investment prospects in India.

Goyal's visit to Switzerland was aimed at advancing the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA). On March 10, India and EFTA signed a landmark free trade agreement, promising New Delhi an investment influx of USD 100 billion over 15 years, while opening doors for products like Swiss watches and chocolates at lower or zero duties.

The European Free Trade Association (EFTA) includes Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland. Goyal's meetings showcased India's vibrant growth narrative, engaging with major business figures and potential investors, such as MSC Cargo. Discussions focused on fostering investments and partnerships to propel India's progress.

Furthermore, Goyal met with Zurich Airport officials, including Chairman Josef Felder, to explore enhancements in airport infrastructure and air services innovation. This initiative aims to significantly elevate the Indian aviation sector through best practices and advanced methodologies.

In addition, Goyal conferred with WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, reviewing ongoing negotiations post the 13th Ministerial Conference, reiterating India's dedication to fair and equitable trade outcomes.
