On Saturday, a Microsoft outage caused significant disruptions in the domestic airline sector, leading to the cancellation of nearly six to eight flights, according to airport authorities.
In response to the server outage that disrupted routine activities, computerised boarding passes were issued to passengers, replacing manual handwritten passes for the day.
While the international sector saw no cancellations, several flights to Doha and Kuwait were delayed for a few hours.
'About six flights in the domestic sector, including those serving Coimbatore, Kolkata, Kochi, and Pune, were cancelled on Saturday. However, international routes reported no cancellations but experienced some delays,' stated an official.
Chennai Airport has requested passengers to contact their airlines for rebooking and refund information.
Due to the Microsoft Corp's cloud services disruption on Friday, 27 domestic flights were cancelled and eight out of 34 international flights faced delays, necessitating the use of manual boarding passes.
