Twelve wagons of a Delhi-bound freight train derailed near the Amroha railway station in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening, officials said, causing significant disruption on the route.
No injuries were reported in the accident, which occurred three days after a tragic derailment in Gonda district that left four dead and injured 31 others.
Moradabad Division's Senior Deputy Commercial Manager (DCM) Aditya Gupta confirmed that the derailment happened just after the train crossed Amroha railway station around 5 pm.
The incident occurred at the Amrohi Yard on the Ghaziabad-Moradabad section, significantly affecting train movement; officials are diverting trains via alternative routes including Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Gajraula.
Efforts to restore normal train services are ongoing and expected to finalize by Sunday morning.
