Tragedy in Kathmandu: Private Aircraft Crashes During Takeoff

A private airline aircraft with 19 people on board crashed during takeoff at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. The plane was heading to Pokhara and had a fire breakout which has been extinguished. The pilot has been hospitalized while details of the passengers' conditions are unknown.

The Pokhara-bound Saurya Airlines plane met with the accident around 11 am, sources said. The pilot has been hospitalized, but details about the other passengers remain unknown. A fire that broke out on the aircraft has been extinguished, according to a security official.

Police and firefighters are currently conducting rescue operations at the accident site.
