Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her outstanding budget aimed at creating a Viksit Bharat during their meeting in New Delhi.
The chief minister noted that the budget uniquely focuses on employment, youth empowerment, women empowerment, and small businesses.
Sarma also engaged in productive discussions on various topics and received assurances that all announced support will be extended to Assam, enhancing its flood resilience and benefiting the digital economy and MSMEs.
''I conveyed my appreciation for the special assistance scheme for state capital expenditure and suggested enhancements,'' said Sarma. Sitharaman assured the early resolution of state royalty issues from hydrocarbon industries and positively considered Sarma's suggestions for boosting the capacity of Assam’s chemical and hydrocarbon sectors.
