Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday sought the intervention of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to urgently repair Assam's National Highway 37, citing significant inconvenience to people due to its deteriorating condition.

Gogoi met with Gadkari and provided a detailed letter on the state of the highway.

In his letter, the MP from Jorhat underscored the critical state of NH 37, noting that increased traffic due to commercial activities, tourism, and regular transportation has exacerbated the road's wear and tear, leading to severe inconvenience for residents and commuters alike.
