The Maharashtra government has decided to extend the Annapurna scheme, which provides three free LPG cylinders annually per household, to beneficiaries of the Ladki Bahin Yojana, an official announced on Thursday.
Under the Ladki Bahin scheme, women from families with an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh will receive Rs 1,500 in monthly financial aid. These initiatives were unveiled in the recently tabled budget.
The Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana is set to benefit 52 lakh families, now including those under the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Details on the number of beneficiaries and related expenditures are still being finalized. The proposal was discussed in the state cabinet on Tuesday.
