The Defence Ministry and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) have inked an agreement to bolster Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and emerging companies within the defence sector, aimed at expanding their business operations, exploring new markets, and funding their research and development activities.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to provide these firms with access to capital markets, allowing them to raise productive capital efficiently and transparently through the NSE's 'NSE Emerge' platform, according to a statement from the Defence Ministry.

The MoU, valid for five years, was signed in the presence of Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane, and includes extensive awareness initiatives like seminars, MSME camps, roadshows, and workshops, designed to guide these companies through the fundraising process on the NSE Emerge platform.
