Airlines Halt Beirut Flights Amid Escalating Tensions

Greece's Aegean Airlines and Germany's Condor have suspended flights to Beirut due to rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah. Other airlines, including Air France and Lufthansa, have also announced cancellations. Despite this, Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport still listed arrivals on Tuesday from several major airlines.

Amid escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, Greece's Aegean Airlines and Germany's Condor have become the latest carriers to cancel flights to Beirut. Aegean Airlines announced it would suspend services until Thursday, while Condor cancelled its Tuesday flight from Dusseldorf.

Other airlines, including Air France, Swiss, Eurowings, and Lufthansa, have also suspended flights to the Lebanese capital. Despite these cancellations, Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport still listed several arrivals on Tuesday from major airlines such as Pegasus, Emirates, and Qatar Airways.

The heightened tensions follow a strike in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Saturday, which resulted in the deaths of 12 children and teenagers. Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the incident, but Lebanon remains on high alert for possible retaliatory actions from Israel.
