A signalling system glitch at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) disrupted suburban services on the Central Railway for around 45 minutes on Tuesday afternoon, officials confirmed.
A technical snag affected UP and DOWN slow lines on the Main Line around 2.30 pm, causing trains to queue up on tracks and passengers to walk along them.
Commuters complained that both Slow and Fast routes were affected, resulting in delays of 20 to 30 minutes. The issue, impacting over 1,800 services and around 40 lakh commuters, was resolved by 3.15 pm, restoring normal traffic.
