TCPL Reports Decline in Net Q1 Profit Amidst Strong Revenue Growth
Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) reported a 14.34% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 289.25 crore for Q1 FY25, impacted by exceptional items and lower profits from associates. However, revenue increased by 16.32% to Rs 4,352.07 crore owing to organic and non-branded business growth.
Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) on Tuesday announced a 14.34 per cent drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 289.25 crore for the first quarter ending June 2024. The decline was attributed to exceptional items and lower profit contributions from its associates and joint ventures.
Despite this, TCPL saw a 16.32 per cent rise in revenue from operations, amounting to Rs 4,352.07 crore, compared to Rs 3,741.21 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company’s total expenses surged by 18.82 per cent to Rs 3,926.29 crore in the same period.
Significant revenue growth was observed in both branded and non-branded businesses, with the latter seeing a 32.76 per cent increase. International business also showed improved profitability due to structural changes and pricing actions. TCPL’s strong performance was further highlighted by the addition of 17 new stores by Tata Starbucks and a 66 per cent growth in its diverse portfolio of growth businesses.
