Andhra Pradesh Seeks US Support to Attract Corporations

Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister TG Bharat met with US Consul General Jennifer Larson, seeking her assistance in attracting companies to the state. Highlighting the state's opportunities and a pro-business policy to be introduced, Bharat aims to facilitate investments and employment through a single window system and PPP model.

Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister TG Bharat on Wednesday called on US Consul General in Hyderabad, Jennifer Larson, requesting support to attract companies to the state.

Bharat detailed the available opportunities and assured Larson that Andhra Pradesh would support investors fully. He also sought her help in encouraging Telugu-origin individuals in the US to expand their businesses to Andhra Pradesh.

The Consul General responded positively. Bharat earlier announced a new business-friendly industrial policy to be introduced within 100 days aimed at boosting investments and employment. Policies on industries, MSMEs, food processing, and industrial clusters will be finalized in 15 days, with all approvals routed through a single window system. Given the state's financial situation, Bharat stated that the PPP model will be employed, and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will decide on the placement of significant investments like BPCL's Rs 75,000 crore project.
