Sun Pharma's Q1 Surge: 40.2% Profit Rise
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd reported a 40.2% increase in net profit for the first quarter ending June 30, driven by strong growth in India formulation and global specialty sales. The company's total revenue rose to Rs 12,652.75 crore. Significant milestones were achieved with US approvals and acquisitions.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd on Thursday announced a significant 40.2 per cent increase in consolidated net profit, amounting to Rs 2,835.62 crore for the first quarter ending June 30. This surge was fueled by robust growth in India formulation sales and global specialty sales.
In a regulatory filing, the company compared this quarter's profit to the Rs 2,022.54 crore posted in the same period last fiscal year. Additionally, consolidated total revenue from operations rose to Rs 12,652.75 crore from Rs 11,940.84 crore in the previous year.
While India formulation sales jumped 16.4 per cent to Rs 4,144.5 crore, accounting for 33.1 per cent of overall sales, US formulation sales decreased by 1 per cent to USD 466 million, representing 31.1 per cent of total sales. Global specialty sales saw a notable 14.7 per cent increase to USD 266 million. Emerging markets and the rest of the world witnessed varied results, with sales growing in some regions and declining in others.
